Kaantha OTT Release Date Confirmed: Dulquer Salmaan’s Film Streaming on Dec 12

Dulquer Salmaan stars in the lead role in the movie Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film was released in theatres on November 14. Bhagyashree Borse plays the female lead, while Samuthirakani and Rana Daggubati appear in important roles.

Amid ongoing speculation about its digital premiere, Netflix has officially confirmed the OTT release date of Kaantha. The movie will be available for streaming from December 12, and viewers can watch it in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The story revolves around director Ayya (played by Samuthirakani), who transforms an orphan, T.K. Mahadevan (Dulquer Salmaan), into a top star. However, Mahadevan becomes frustrated by Ayya’s controlling nature. Meanwhile, Ayya plans to make a film titled Shanta, based on his mother’s difficult life. But due to creative differences between Ayya and Mahadevan during the shoot, the project gets halted.

Years later, the new head of Modern Studios decides to revive the shelved project. This time, Mahadevan agrees to do the film but imposes new conditions. He demands that the climax be rewritten to elevate his star image and that the film be renamed Kaantha instead of Shanta. He also insists that Ayya should not direct but only be present on the sets.

When the project restarts, Ayya’s student Kumari (Bhagyashree Borse) is chosen as the heroine. The plot then follows how Kumari becomes caught between Ayya and Mahadevan, whether the two men are able to finish Kaantha despite their clashing egos, who is responsible for a murder that occurs on the day of the climax shoot, and whether police officer Phoenix (Rana Daggubati) can uncover the truth.
