Kamal Haasan's Latest Film 'Indian 2' Premieres On OTT Tomorrow

"Indian 2," directed by S. Shankar and co-written by B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar, is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on August 9. The sequel to the 1996 classic "Indian" continues Kamal Haasan’s role as the elderly vigilante, Senapathy. The film, titled "Indian 2" in Tamil, "Bharateeyudu 2" in Telugu, and "Hindustani 2" in Hindi, will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on Netflix.

Premise: The film follows Chitra Aravindhan and his friends, who run a political satire YouTube channel. After uncovering corruption tied to a student’s death, they stage a protest and are arrested. Chitra’s girlfriend, Disha, arranges their bail, and they launch the "Come Back Indian" campaign, urging Senapathy to confront the corruption. Based in Taipei, Senapathy returns to India to tackle corrupt officials, leading to intense investigations and confrontations.

Cast: The film stars Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, Siddharth as Chitra Aravindhan, Rakul Preet Singh as Disha, S. J. Suryah stars as Sakala Kala Vallavan, with Bobby Simha portraying Pramod. The cast also features Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, and others, along with special appearances by Gulshan Grover, Piyush Mishra, and more.

Crew: The film features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Ravi Varman and R. Rathnavelu, editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, production design by T. Muthuraj, and visual effects by V. Srinivas Mohan.

"Indian 2" had its global premiere in both standard and IMAX formats, with a runtime of over six hours, and was released in two parts. "Indian 3" is set to hit the screens in 2025.
