The Bollywood movie 'Merry Christmas' starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, directed by Sriram Raghavan, was released in theatres on January 12. Despite appreciation for visuals and Sriram Raghavan's direction, its simple storyline led to commercial failure, collecting less than 20 crores. However, due to Sriram Raghavan's popularity, Netflix acquired the streaming rights for around sixty crores, turning the movie profitable through digital rights. The film, based on the French novel Bird in a Cage, received the highest IMDB rank in Sriram Raghavan's career. Originally released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, it is set to stream on Netflix from March 8 in these languages. The movie stars Radhika Apte and Radhika Sarath Kumar in guest roles.
