Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s film Lal Salaam has made its OTT debut on the Sun NXT platform, nearly a year after its theatrical release on February 9. Though the film underperformed in theaters with a cut version, the extended version is now available online. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the movie also stars Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, and former cricketer Kapil Dev.

Set in the 1990s village of Kasumuru, where Hindus and Muslims live in harmony, the story follows Moideen (Rajinikanth), who moves to Mumbai and becomes a successful businessman. His dream is for his son Shamshuddin (Vikranth) to become a great cricketer.

However, political unrest disrupts the village’s peace, culminating in a cricket match marred by communal tensions. During the clash, Guru (Vishnu Vishal) injures Shamshuddin’s hand, sparking conflict. The film explores the reasons behind the violence and its impact on the village.
