Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, released in theaters on May 1, 2025, and performed well at the box office. Directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, the romantic action drama follows Paarim (Suriya), a mobster trying to leave his violent past behind and live peacefully with his love, Rukmini (Pooja Hegde).

The film centers on Paarim’s struggle between his past crimes and his promise to lead a straight life. After his wedding is disrupted and Rukmini disappears, Paarim spends five years in prison and later searches for her on a troubled island ruled by dangerous forces.

Retro will start streaming on Netflix May 31, 2025. However, it won’t be available in Hindi yet. Despite mixed box office results, especially in Telugu states, fans are eager to see how it performs on OTT.
