Samuthirakani's Thiru Manickam Gets OTT Release Date

Samuthirakani's latest film Thiru Manickam is set to premiere on the OTT platform Zee5. The makers announced that this emotional drama, featuring veteran actor-director Bharathiraja in a significant role, will be available for streaming from January 24. The film is directed by Nandha Periyasamy, known for his previous work on Anandham Vilayadum Veedu and writing the screenplay for Rashmi Rocket.

Plot and Cast Details

The story revolves around an honest man, played by Samuthirakani, who runs a lottery ticket shop. After Bharathiraja's character wins Rs 1.5 crore in a lottery, Samuthirakani takes on a challenging mission to return the ticket to its rightful owner. The supporting cast includes Thambi Ramaiah, Ananya, Nassar, Gracy, Sriman, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu.

Released on December 27, Thiru Manickam received mixed reviews. The CE review noted, "With overly convenient writing, a predictable narrative, and excessive melodrama, Thiru Manickam attempts to captivate audiences with its theme of righteousness but falls short." Produced by GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy, and Raja Senthil under the GPRK Cinemas banner, the technical team includes cinematographer Sukumar M, editor Guna, and music composer Vishal Chandrashekar. The film was shot in scenic locations like Kumuli, Thekkady, and Munnar.
