Sathya Raj's Bollywood Film Munjya Now Streaming in Tamil on Disney+ Hotstar

Starring Sathyaraj, Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh, Munjya was produced on a budget of Rs 30 crore but achieved remarkable success at the box office, grossing Rs 130 crore (approximately 16 million dollars) worldwide.

About Munjya

Set in 1952, the story follows Gotya, a young Brahmin who becomes the vengeful spirit of Munjya after a thwarted marriage proposal to Munni. Munjya haunts a peepal tree in a secluded Konkan forest. Years later, during a visit, Bittu gets possessed by Munjya, who intends to marry and sacrifice Bela. With the help of a friend and an exorcist, Bittu ultimately manages to defeat Munjya by setting the tree ablaze, though hints suggest that the spirit's influence may not be entirely vanquished.
