RJ Balaji’s much-anticipated film Sorgavaasal, set in a gritty prison environment, will soon hit theaters on November 29, 2024. Directed by Sidharth Vishwanath, this dark action thriller marks a departure from Balaji’s usual comedic roles. After its theatrical run, the film's streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix, where it will be available for streaming, likely by the end of December 2024 or January 2025.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Selvaraghavan, Natty, Karunaas, Saniya Iyappan, and others. The story explores the intense dynamics between prison inmates, officials, and the protagonist, caught in the middle of prison power struggles. Sorgavaasal promises to offer a more intense, action-packed experience compared to Balaji's previous roles in comedies.

Balaji is also working on his next directorial project with Suriya, tentatively titled Suriya 45, with music by AR Rahman.
