Thug Life is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2025, marking the long-awaited reunion between director Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after 37 years. Set to release in theaters on June 5, 2025, the film will be available for streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical run.

Plot and Cast of Thug Life

The movie features Kamal Haasan in a dual role, as both a warrior and a modern-day figure, though plot details remain largely under wraps. Filming began in January 2025 and was completed by September. Alongside Haasan, the film stars Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and several others.

The film is co-written by Haasan and Ratnam and produced by Raaj Kamal Films, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. The technical crew includes Ravi K. Chandran as DOP, Sreekar Prasad as the editor, and Anbariv handling the action sequences. The film’s music is composed by Nakul Abhyankar.
