The web series Ziddi Girls, starring Revathy, Nandita Das, and Simran, revolves around the lives of bold and independent women living in a hostel. The show portrays their struggles, ambitions, and experiences. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, accessible on smart TVs, tablets, and smartphones. The series accurately reflects student activism in Indian educational institutions, focusing on how the Matilda House administration's policy changes threaten women's rights, compelling them to fight against the system.

Ziddi Girls draws inspiration from real-life student movements like the Pinjra Tod movement of 2015, where female students in Delhi protested against discriminatory hostel curfew rules imposed by authorities. Another real-life incident that resonates with the show is the 2020 Gargi College molestation case, where hundreds of students protested for six days against campus security failures and demanded justice for the victims. Similar to Ziddi Girls, these students refused to stay silent until their voices were heard.

Director Shonali Bose emphasized that students must not limit themselves to academics but also stand up for their rights and voice their opinions.
