Akhil Akkineni put in a lot of effort and passion into the movie Agent, which was released on April 28, 2023. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film featured Mammootty in a crucial role. However, the movie turned out to be a disaster, to the extent that the producer himself admitted that the film was made without a complete script. Despite some well-executed action sequences and a strong characterization for Mammootty, the film suffered due to poor storytelling, screenplay flaws by Vakkantham Vamsi and Surender Reddy, and subpar VFX.

Made on a massive budget, Agent resulted in huge losses for its producers. However, some Akkineni fans appreciated the film and have been waiting for its OTT release. Initially, there were reports that it would be released on SonyLIV in September 2023, but that never happened. Since then, there have been no updates regarding its digital release, leaving fans disappointed.

Now, a fresh update states that Agent will start streaming on the same OTT platform from March 14. However, fans remain skeptical, making comments like, “We still don’t believe it, sir.” With nearly two years since its theatrical release, it remains to be seen whether Agent will finally arrive on OTT on the promised date.
