The Bollywood film Chhaava, which started as a small film, has become a sensational blockbuster. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie has achieved massive success both critically and commercially, collecting over ₹500 crore at the box office. Based on the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the film showcases Vicky Kaushal’s outstanding performance in the titular role. Chhaava was released in theaters on February 14, 2025, and received blockbuster talk right from the first show.

The film highlights the life of the great but lesser-known ruler Sambhaji Maharaj. Alongside Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna played significant roles. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. After creating waves in Bollywood, the film was also released in Telugu on March 7.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the movie’s OTT release. Reports suggest that Netflix has acquired the digital rights of Chhaava for a fancy price. Initially, it was expected to start streaming on April 11, but with the film still performing well in theaters and maintaining its hype, the OTT release might be delayed.
