Recently, the movie Laila was released with moderate expectations but turned out to be a disaster. Vishwak Sen played the lead role and even donned a female getup for variety. However, due to weak content, the film became a huge failure at the box office. Now, reports suggest that the movie is heading for an OTT release soon.

Vishwak Sen, who gained some recognition with films like Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and Falaknuma Das, has been disappointing audiences with every recent release. His films Gangs of Godavari, Gaami, and Mechanic Rocky failed to impress. Many hoped that Laila would be a hit, but it turned out to be a massive disaster.

Released in theaters on February 14 as a Valentine’s Day special, Laila received negative talk from the very first show, leading to a steep drop in collections from the second day. Initially, the digital release was planned for the second week of March, but now reports suggest that it might arrive earlier, possibly on March 7 or even sooner, on Amazon Prime Video.

In terms of story, Laila revolves around Sonu (Vishwak Sen), who runs a beauty parlor in Hyderabad’s Old City. One day, he unexpectedly becomes a target of a local strongman and SI Shankar. To escape, he disguises himself as a woman and takes on the identity of Laila, leading to the rest of the story.
