Marko: Unni Mukundan's Violent Blockbuster to Stream on Netflix

The movie Marko, starring Unni Mukundan, has created a huge sensation, becoming the most violent film in India, surpassing Animal and Kill. Action lovers have been flocking to watch this film, which has been a massive success not just in Malayalam but also in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Made with a budget of just ₹30 crores, Marko has reportedly grossed ₹100 crores at the box office, exceeding expectations. As a result, the film has generated huge demand for its OTT rights.

Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights for Marko. The film, which was released in Malayalam on December 20, is expected to hit the OTT platform 45 days later, likely at the end of this month or in the first week of February. Directed by Hanif Adeni, the movie has been produced by Sharif Mohammed, with Ravi Basrur composing the music.

There has been criticism regarding the excessive violence shown in the film, leading the censor board to award it an 'A' certification. This has led some viewers to avoid watching the action-packed film. Meanwhile, Marko is also set to release in Kannada on January 31, and it remains to be seen how the film performs in the Kannada market after its success in other languages.
