Venkatesh’s film Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which performed well in theaters, will stream on Zee5 starting February 20, 2025, in both Telugu and Tamil, as per an earlier signed deal. Despite rumors of a delayed release due to its box office success, the film is set to arrive on the OTT platform.

Plot Summary

The story follows Y.D. Raju, a former deputy commissioner of police, who is tasked by his ex-girlfriend, ACP Meenakshi, to rescue Satya Akella, the CEO of a global company kidnapped by a gang. Raju teams up with Meenakshi, but things get complicated when his wife, Bhagyam, joins the mission, fearing he might leave her for Meenakshi. This leads to a blend of humor and action. Released on January 14, 2025, the film has earned Rs 240 crore worldwide.

Review

The Hindu described the film’s humor as absurd at times, especially certain adult comedy elements, but still called it a fun outing. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Aishwarya Rajesh, and others, with a musical score by Bheems Ceciroleo.
