Soori-Anna Ben's 'Kottukkaali' Set for OTT Release

Directed by PS Vinothraj, the film features Soori and Anna Ben in key roles. Despite its critical success, Kottukkaali had a brief theatrical run due to the influx of other Tamil films.

The film, which earned Rs 47 lakh on its opening day, is scheduled to stream on Simply South from September 27, with additional availability on Amazon Prime Video. Kottukkaali follows Anna Ben's character, Meena, as she navigates societal and familial pressures over her relationship with a boy from an oppressed caste. The movie explores themes of trauma, abuse, and power dynamics.

Helmed by PS Vinothraj, who also penned the story, Kottukkaali is produced by Sivakarthikeyan under Sivakarthikeyan Productions, with cinematography by B Sakthivel and editing by Ganesh Siva. The performances, especially Anna Ben's emotive portrayal without dialogue, have been widely praised.
