Telugu actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who gained widespread recognition for her performances in Goodachari and Major, is set to make her Telugu OTT debut with the crime thriller Cheekatilo. The film, produced by Suresh Babu and directed by Sharan Koppisetty, will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video India from the 23rd of this month.

Speaking at a press interaction held ahead of the release, Sobhita shared insights into her role and the film’s narrative. She plays the character of Sandhya, a podcaster described as fearless and principled. According to the actress, Sandhya is someone who stands firmly by her beliefs, regardless of external support or opposition.

Set in Hyderabad, Cheekatilo unfolds as a layered crime thriller filled with unexpected twists and emotional depth. Sobhita noted that the film goes beyond the conventional thriller format and presents a strong emotional journey. Through her character, the story aims to highlight the importance of facing challenges with courage rather than retreating in fear.

The actress expressed confidence that Sandhya’s character would connect strongly with today’s young women. She also shared her happiness over actor Naga Chaitanya sharing the film’s trailer on his X (formerly Twitter) account, calling it a thoughtful gesture.

Commenting on her approach to acting, Sobhita stated that she fully commits to roles she resonates with and prefers to let audiences decide the outcome. She added that she generally avoids seeking opinions from close acquaintances, choosing instead to trust the storytelling and audience response.
