Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mukesh Chhabra expressed heartfelt admiration for the film. He described Ikkis as a work crafted with pure intent, praising its tender, truthful storytelling that lingers long after the credits roll. Chhabra highlighted Dharmendra for bringing elegance and profound depth to the screen, adding that if this were to be his final appearance, it would be a deeply moving farewell that leaves a lasting emotional imprint.
Chhabra also commended Jaideep Ahlawat, noting that his performance exceeded expectations and offered a pleasant surprise. He extended a warm welcome to newcomers Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, praising their on-screen presence, expressive eyes, and natural chemistry. According to him, Agastya’s purity and earnestness stand out, while Vivan Shah and Sikandar Kher deliver commendable work. Above all, he lauded Sriram Raghavan for once again delivering a sincere, intimate cinematic experience that feels personal and honest.
About Ikkis
The biographical war drama centers on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC, portrayed by Agastya Nanda, and traces his sacrifice during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India Pakistan War. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film features Dharmendra as Brigadier ML Khetarpal (Retd.), the hero’s father; Jaideep Ahlawat as Brigadier Khwaja Mohammed Naseer of the Pakistan Army; and Rahul Dev as Lieutenant Colonel, later Lieutenant General, Hanut Singh, MVC, among others.
Ikkis marks Agastya Nanda’s theatrical debut and introduces Simar Bhatia to Bollywood. Initially planned for a December 25 release, the film is now set to arrive in cinemas on January 1, 2026.
