Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s rom-com Param Sundari drew attention with its melodious soundtrack, especially the hit track Paradesiya. The film follows Param (Malhotra), the son of a wealthy businessman, who invests in a dating app and meets Sundari (Kapoor), leading to a quest for her love.
Pros:
- Sachin-Jigar’s music stands out brilliantly, perfectly enhancing the lush and picturesque landscapes of Kerala. The first half is engaging, aided by the lead pair’s charm, chemistry, and light comedy. Sidharth impresses with his effortless presence, and Janhvi delivers a decent portrayal.
Cons:
- The film lacks emotional depth, particularly in the rushed climax where key revelations happen too quickly. The second half drags, editing falters, supporting actors get little scope, and the story feels predictable.
Technical:
- Cinematography beautifully captures Kerala. The soundtrack elevates key moments, though the editing could have been sharper in the latter half. Direction works partially, keeping the first half engaging but the second underwhelming.
Verdict:
- Param Sundari is a musically strong but emotionally shallow rom-com. While the leads perform well and the songs delight, the weak emotional narrative and a dragged second half make it a below-par outing.
