Strong performances by Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen

  • Engaging pre-climax and subtle humor
  • Impactful background score by Santhosh Narayanan

Cons:

  • Repetitive, thin storyline
  • Confusing non-linear narration
  • Underused characters, especially Yogi Babu
  • Overdone emotional scenes in the second half

Verdict:

Thalaivan Thalaivii has moments of emotional honesty and humor, powered by its lead pair, but suffers from a weak, repetitive script. Watch it only if you're a fan of family dramas, and go in with modest expectations.
