Review:

After years of delays, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, Sword vs Spirit, finally hits theatres. Fueled by Pawan Kalyan’s powerful pre-release buzz, the film delivers a historical action saga set in the 1650s. Veera Mallu (Pawan Kalyan), a rebellious hero, is tasked with stealing the Koh-i-Noor diamond from Aurangazeb (Bobby Deol), uncovering deeper motives along the way.

Story 

Set in the 1650s, the film follows Veera Mallu (Pawan Kalyan), a heroic outlaw who catches the king of Kollur's attention. After escaping with Panchami (Nidhhi Agerwal), he is assigned a critical mission by Qutub Shah: to retrieve the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Mughal emperor Aurangazeb (Bobby Deol). As Veera travels to Delhi, layers of his mysterious past begin to unfold. What is his true motive? What connects him to Aurangzeb?

Positives:

• Pawan Kalyan shines with a poised, powerful performance. Action scenes — especially at Machilipatnam port, Charminar, and a Mughal village — are gripping and well-executed. 

Negatives:

• The second half slows down, with filler scenes and weak pacing. Characters like Nidhhi Agerwal and Sathyaraj are underwritten. CGI in key scenes falls short, affecting immersion. Bobby Deol’s role is brief, with his clash with Pawan saved for the sequel.

Verdict:

• Though not without its shortcomings, Hari Hara Veera Mallu manages to captivate with compelling performances and striking action sequences. It lays a promising foundation for its sequel and offers enough cinematic flair to merit a theatrical watch.
