Mahesh Babu Rajamouli Film Varanasi: New Actress Entry Rumors Explained

The much-anticipated pan-Indian adventure epic Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and directed by S. S. Rajamouli, is progressing at a brisk pace with exciting developments emerging regularly.

Mounted on a massive budget of approximately ₹1300 crore, the film is being రూపొందed in the prestigious IMAX format, promising a grand cinematic experience. The project also features M. M. Keeravani as the music director, while Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist Kumbha. Additionally, R. Madhavan will be seen in a pivotal role.

Currently, the team is filming key sequences featuring Mahesh Babu (as Rudra) and Priyanka Chopra (as Mandakini) on an elaborate Varanasi set constructed at Ramoji Film City.

According to industry reports, the next schedule will include a grand song sequence. The makers are reportedly planning to rope in another leading Bollywood actress to appear alongside Mahesh Babu in this special number. Earlier, Priyanka Chopra had expressed interest in performing a visually striking dance sequence, and this song is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights.

Rajamouli, known for his meticulous approach, has already shot portions of the film in exotic international locations, including Antarctica, to achieve world-class visuals. The upcoming song is also expected to be designed as a large-scale visual spectacle.

Varanasi is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027, coinciding with the Ugadi festival. Trade analysts anticipate that the film has the potential to set new benchmarks in Indian cinema.
