Tunnel Movie Review
Movie Name: Tunnel
Cast: Atharvaa Murali, Lavanya Tripathi, Ashwath Kakuma
Rating: 2.75/5
Story:
A police encounter with a bank robbery gang goes wrong, leading to the death of officers. The gang swears to kill anyone in uniform. Akhil (Atharvaa), who has just joined as a constable along with his friends, gets trapped in a slum area controlled by the gang. The film unfolds around whether he escapes, the villain’s motive, and the significance of the tunnel in the plot.
Plus Points:
- Engaging second half with slum-based thriller sequences
- Interval twist keeps the suspense alive
- Atharvaa and Ashwath’s performances
- Strong technical aspects: cinematography, visuals, background score
Minus Points:
- Routine love story in the first half
- Lavanya Tripathi’s role has very little scope
- Villain’s flashback lacks emotional weight
- Some predictable plot elements
Verdict:
- Tunnel works as a seat-edge action thriller with good tension and solid performances, but falls short with a weak love track and shallow villain backstory. Worth a watch for thriller lovers.
