Malayalam cinema is set to debut its first hybrid animation and live-action 3D film, Lovely 3D, hitting theaters on April 4. Directed by Dileesh Karunakaran, the film blends live-action with animation and stars Mathew Thomas in the lead role, alongside an animated fly as the female lead. The first look poster, shared by Thomas on Instagram, features his character gazing at a glowing animated fly in a bubble, hinting at a fantastical journey.

Lovely 3D also stars Ashwathy Manoharan, Unnimaya, Manoj K. Jayan, and others, with cinematography by Aashiq Abu. The film promises an innovative cinematic experience.

Mathew Thomas’s previous work includes the Tamil film Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, which received mixed reviews, and Bromance in Malayalam, which had a lukewarm reception due to its stretched narrative and uneven character development.
