This 3D fantasy film, aimed at children, began production in 2021 but faced delays due to the pandemic and extensive post-production work.

Despite initial expectations for a 2023 release, the film's release date was postponed. Recent reports indicate that theatre chains have been informed of the December release, though an official announcement is still pending. A new glimpse video is expected to be shared in the coming weeks.

Barroz, based on Jijo Punnoose's novel, will be released in multiple Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Mohanlal stars as the titular character, with TK Rajeev Kumar serving as the creative head and Santosh Sivan as the cinematographer. The film is produced by Antony Permbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas.
