Vijayakanth’s iconic 1991 film ‘Captain Prabhakaran,’ his 100th movie, will be re-released in 4K in April 2025. Directed by Selvamani, the film stars Rupini and Mansoor Ali Khan, with notable special appearances by Ramya Krishnan and Sarathkumar. 

Set to delight fans once again, the movie will be re-released on August 22, 2025, in over 500 theaters throughout Tamil Nadu, timed to coincide with Vijayakanth’s birthday celebrations.

Director Selvamani praised Vijayakanth’s dedication and stunt work, and noted strong distributor interest. Vijayakanth’s son, Vijaya Prabhakaran, will personally oversee the re-release.
