The 2005 romantic comedy Sachein, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Genelia D’Souza, is set for a 4K re-release on April 11, 2025, marking the 20th anniversary of its release. Directed by John, the film is beloved by Tamil audiences for its charming love story, featuring Vijay as Sachein and Genelia as Shalini.

Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu confirmed the 4K restoration is in progress, and fans are eagerly awaiting the re-release. In the meantime, Sachein is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video (Tamil) and Jio Cinema (Hindi-dubbed as Ghamandee).

The movie follows the unique romance between Sachein, a boy-next-door, and Shalini, a rich, spoiled college girl. Alongside Vijay and Genelia, the film features a star cast including Vadivelu, Bipasha Basu, Santhanam, and others. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Jeeva and editing by VT Vijayan. Sachin was produced under the banner of V Creations.
