Thalapathi Movie Re Release In Theatres On Rajinikanth's 74th Birthday

Rajinikanth's 1991 classic Thalapathi is set for a re-release in theatres with a 4K remastered version on December 12, 2024, coinciding with the actor's 74th birthday. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the gangster drama stars Rajinikanth, Mammootty, and Arvind Swamy, along with notable actors like Jaishankar, Amrish Puri, and Srividya.

Inspired by the Mahabharata, the film portrays the bond between Rajinikanth's and Mammootty's characters, based on Karna and Duryodhana. Thalapathi was a major success both critically and commercially, praised for its stellar performances, Ilaiyaraaja's unforgettable music, and Santosh Sivan's cinematography.
