Directed by Selvaraghavan, the film was a major success in both Tamil and Telugu, with Karthi, Reema Sen, and Andrea Jeremiah in key roles. Speaking about the film, Karthi expressed that it holds a special place in his career, as it brought him closer to Telugu audiences. He called it a "box office trendsetter" and emphasized the hard work put into it.

The film’s story, set in three time periods 1279 AD, 14th century, and 2010—follows the journey of Karthi and a group of scientists from the Pandya dynasty as they search for traces of the missing Chola Empire.
