Pooja Hegde Faces Backlash for Mistaking Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as Tamil Film
Pooja Hegde faced backlash after mistakenly referring to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as a Tamil film during the promotions of Deva, despite the movie being a major Telugu hit.
Pooja Hegde recently starred alongside Shahid Kapoor in the movie Deva, where she played the female lead. The film was directed by Malayalam director Roshan Andrews. The movie, which recently hit theaters, has been receiving positive reviews and is performing well. During the promotions of the film, Pooja mistakenly referred to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as a Tamil movie and mentioned that it had a Pan-India reach.
She also stated that Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ) had become a super hit in the North. However, Pooja’s comments caused some backlash, as fans of Allu Arjun and Telugu movie lovers began trolling her. They commented, questioning how she could not know which language her film was in, despite being a part of the film that became a super hit.
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, featuring Allu Arjun in the lead role, was directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Pooja Hegde played the female lead in this film, which was released just before the lockdown. The film went on to earn over Rs. 250 crores, making it a major blockbuster.
