Anand Deverakonda Returns with ‘Epic: First Semester’ Directed by Aditya Haasan

Anand Deverakonda, who recently slowed down his movie projects, appears to be preparing for a grand cinematic venture. The upcoming film will feature the talented Vaishnavi Chaitanya as the female lead. Helmed by director Aditya Haasan, the project is inspired by his admiration for 90s films and his earlier work as a producer on Little Hearts. The movie is being produced under the Sitara Entertainment banner and carries the tagline First Semester.

A teaser video announcing the film's title has already been released, drawing attention for its captivating visuals. The story is set in London and, according to the video, centers around traditional Telugu customs. In one scene, a girl inquires about an impending wedding, to which Vaishnavi responds with her ideal traits for a partner: a stylish appearance, good communication skills, an appreciation for music, and academic intelligence. She jokingly adds that she will search for someone else if these criteria aren’t met.

Anand Deverakonda is seen in a rugged look, wearing a shirt backward, while singer Goreti Venkanna’s song Budda Gositapetdu plays in the background. Vaishnavi’s character notices him and remarks, "Got it." Anand’s voice also features prominently, giving a glimpse of a story reminiscent of films by directors Shekhar Kammula and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The soundtrack promises engaging music that complements the narrative.

Overall, the film titled Epic: First Semester looks promising, and Aditya Haasan’s work suggests another impressive cinematic experience following his earlier successes with 90s-inspired storytelling.
