Fahad Faasil: OTTs don't care about Malayalam movies despite hits

Highlighting hits like "Romancham", "Neru", "Hridayam", "Manjummal Boys", "Premalu", "Bhramayugam", and now "Avesham", Fahad noted their significant impact. He mentioned that "Manjummal Boys" and "Premalu" collectively earned over 10 crores in Telugu.

However, despite these achievements, Fahad expressed concern about the lack of support from OTT platforms for Malayalam cinema. He observed that while 80% of movies in other languages secure OTT deals before release, Malayalam films face challenges in this regard. Fahad stressed that this scenario has spurred the industry to produce higher-quality content. His remarks echoed sentiments previously voiced by actor Tovino Thomas, signaling a growing dialogue within the Malayalam film industry regarding the need for increased recognition from OTT platforms.
