Hansika, known for her glamorous roles, is now stepping into the horror genre with a dual role in the film 'Gandhari.' Directed and produced by R. Kannan under the Masala Pictures banner, the film marks a departure from his previous works. Kannan, who previously directed the highly popular 'The Great Indian Kitchen' featuring Aishwarya Rajesh, is now exploring the horror genre with commercial elements.
In this unique film, Hansika takes on the character of a young woman working as an officer in the Department of Archaeology. As she investigates the Gandharva fort, built by an ancient king, various surprising incidents unfold. The storyline involves Hansika playing the roles of both an archaeology department official and a young woman from an ancient tribe.
The production of the film has entered its final stages, and it was disclosed that a spectacular hill house set was constructed on the coast of China at a cost of Rs. 60 lakhs. This set served as the backdrop for scenes set in 1943. Notable actors such as Metro Shirish, Mile Samy, Thalaivasal Vijay, Adugalam Naren, Stunt Silva, Vinodini, Pawan Kudivelu Murugan, Kalairani, among others, play crucial roles.
R. Kannan shared that the team is gearing up for an April release, aiming to present the film as a special treat for the summer audience. The film promises a fresh and distinctive take on horror, blending historical elements with the supernatural.
