Maayi director Suryaprakash (56) passed away. Sarathkumar and Radhika paying their respects

Tamil director Suryaprakash passed away on May 27 due to a heart attack. He got good recognition with the films Maayi, Manikam and Diwan. He is 56 years old. More details regarding Surya Prakashs last rites are yet to be known. Actors Sarath Kumar and Radhika Sarath Kumar expressed their condolences through their respective social media pages. 

Shocked by the death of my dear friend Suryaprakash, who directed the films Mai and Diwan. I was deeply saddened by his sudden death, I had spoken to him even yesterday. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I pray to God for his soul to rest in peace.

Radhika Sarath Kumar condoled Suryaprakashs death. Shocked beyond words, amazing, talented person, good writer, director with comic wit, a close friend of Sarathkumar. He said that he is a great loss to his family and the film industry. Surya Prakash made his directorial debut with Rajkirans Manikkam. After that, the movie Maayi with actors Sarath Kumar and Meena got positive reviews. It was remade in Telugu as Sinharasi and in Kannada as Narasimha.Surya made his debut in Telugu with Rajasekhar starrer Bharatasimha Reddy. As the film flopped, Sarath Kumar made a re-entry into Tamil with Deewan and Jeevans Adhibar.
