Rajinikanth's 'Vettayan' Gets New Release Date

Directed by Nelson, Jailer broke Rajinikanth's streak of flops and gave him a much-needed blockbuster. Buoyed by this success, Rajinikanth is working on several projects.

Currently, he is starring in Vettayan, directed by T.G. Jjanavel. The teaser, released on Rajinikanth's birthday, received a great response from fans eagerly awaiting its release. Initially planned as a Dussehra release, the production company has now decided to release Vettayan on October 31 as a Diwali gift, according to sources in the Tamil film industry. The first single from the film will be announced soon.

Vettayan features Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Tollywood's Rana Daggubati, and Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil in key roles. Music sensation Anirudh is composing the soundtrack, and Subhaskaran is producing the film under the Lyca Productions banner.

In addition to Vettayan, Rajinikanth is also working on another film titled Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The first glimpse of Coolie has already received a tremendous response.
