With several films in his pipeline, Surya is currently working on perfecting his voice for the upcoming ambitious project that blends period stories with social themes. This film promises to showcase another facet of Surya's acting prowess.

The latest update on the movie reveals that it will star Suriya alongside Malayalam sensation Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya in prominent roles. Titled "Purananoor," the film takes an ambitious approach by intertwining period elements with social themes. Notably, Surya is reported to portray the character of a college student in this venture. Having previously transformed himself into the role of a hero advocating for the people of Giri in the film Kanguva, Suriya is now gearing up to immerse himself in the role of a student for "Purananoor." The film, produced by Surya under his 2D Entertainment banner, is scheduled to commence shooting in May.
