Directed by Siva, Suriya's upcoming film "Kanguva" boasts a massive budget that exceeds Rs. 350 crores, making it one of Kollywood's highest-budget productions. Siva, known for Telugu hits like "Shauryam," "Shankham," and "Daruvu," leads the project. Early posters, teasers, and glimpses have generated significant buzz with their Hollywood-level visuals.
Despite commencing less than a year ago, filming progresses swiftly, aiming for a second-half release this year. The movie secured a lucrative deal for its Telugu theatrical rights, reportedly fetching Rs. 25 crores for both Telugu states—more than doubling Suriya's usual market value of Rs. 10 crores in the region, attributed to his star power and UV Banner's involvement.
"Kanguva" delves into a unique time-travel concept, featuring a tribal warrior from 1678 navigating the present with aid from a female scientist. Spanning three distinct periods—past, present, and future—the film is tipped by analysts as a potential pioneer in Tamil cinema's thousand-crore club. Co-produced by UV Creations and Studio Green, "Kanguva" stars Bollywood actress Disha Patani opposite Suriya and will be released in 3D across 38 languages.
