Directed by Nithilan Saminathan and produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under Passion Studios and The Root Banners, the movie was a box-office success, grossing over Rs. 100 crores against a Rs. 20 crore budget.

Now, after about a month since its theatrical release, the official OTT release date has been confirmed. "Maharaja" will start streaming on Netflix starting July 12th. The film, available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages, features Vijay Sethupathi in the role of a barber named Maharaja. The crime thriller also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamata Mohandas, Nataraj, Bharathiraja, Abhiram, and others, with music by Ajanish Loknath.
