Good news for RTC bus commuters in Hyderabad!

The RTC is adding more buses to ease overcrowding and ensure everyone, including men, gets a seat. The increase in passenger traffic, especially after the introduction of Mahalakshmi-free travel, has led to buses being packed, leaving no room even for standing. Men have been particularly affected, often resorting to expensive private transportation.

To address this issue, TSRTC has initiated efforts to increase the number of city buses in Greater Hyderabad. Currently, 2,850 buses are operating mainly on main routes, but efforts are underway to convert deluxe buses from districts into city buses. This involves removing the deluxe body and transforming them into Metro Express buses, costing around Rs. 6 lakh per bus, significantly less than purchasing new buses at over Rs. 30 lakh each.
