Lady In The Lake Trailer: Natalie Portman's Investigation Opens A Pandora's Box

The highly anticipated noir thriller series Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram, is set to premiere on July 19.

Based on Laura Lippman's novel, the series features Portman as Maddie Schwartz, a journalist aiming to revive her career by investigating the murder of Cleo Sherwood, played by Ingram.

As Maddie delves deeper into the case, she uncovers a series of revelations that create more problems than solutions.

Set in 1966 Baltimore, the official plot reveals Maddie as a Jewish housewife trying to escape her past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist.

Meanwhile, Cleo Johnson is a mother struggling with the political complexities of Black Baltimore while providing for her family. Maddie's fixation on Cleo's death leads to dangerous consequences for everyone involved.

Lady in the Lake marks Natalie Portman's television debut and is directed by Alma Har'el, who also co-wrote, directed, and served as an executive producer.

The series also features Obi-Wan Kenobi, Noah Jupe, Mike Epps, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Josiah Cross, Byron Bowers, Y'Lan Noel, Mikey Madison, and Brett Gelman.
