Popular singer Zubeen Garg passed away in a scuba diving accident in Singapore on September 19, just before his scheduled performance at the North East Festival. After a second post-mortem in Guwahati, his remains were brought to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex for a public tribute.

His final rites will take place in Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, with full state honours. Thousands of fans gathered to pay their respects, mourning the sudden loss. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the cremation site ahead of the ceremony.

Dogs do understand death. It’s always important to let them meet the departed person if they were very close. That final moment helps them realize and slowly accept that their beloved human will never return.
