Sivakarthikeyan Opens Up About His Father's Influence on Amaran
At the age of 17, actor Sivakarthikeyan shared that he lost his father and has been living with his memories ever since. He explained that the main reason for making the movie Amaran was his father, and he became emotional talking about it. He also mentioned that there are many similarities between Major Mukund Varadarajan, the character he plays in Amaran, and his father. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, Amaran was released on October 31 and has grossed over ₹200 crores worldwide.
During the success event of Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan became emotional while remembering his father. He mentioned, "My father was a sincere police officer, and he earned the respect of everyone."The main reason I made Amaran is because of my father. For the last 21 years, I have been living with his memories. In Amaran, I saw my father. My first hero was my father. When I was young, he used to polish shoes and prepare badges. I acted like him in Amaran. There are many similarities between Major Mukund Varadarajan and my father."
Sivakarthikeyan further shared, "When I was 17, my father passed away. He called me when he was on a two-day leave and told me he would come home. But in the end, he returned in an ambulance, in an ice box. After the funeral, only his bones remained, and seeing them broke my heart. I cried a lot. Since then, I have been living with my father's memories." His father, G. Das, was a jail superintendent, and Sivakarthikeyan lost him when he was just 17 years old.
