Mirzapur, one of the most popular action crime thriller franchises, is making its transition from the OTT platform to the big screen. The makers have officially released the teaser of Mirzapur The Movie, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 4.

Earlier, the filmmakers revealed that the movie would serve as a prequel to the acclaimed web series. The teaser has generated significant excitement among fans, particularly because several characters who had died during the three seasons appear once again.

Among them, Munna Bhaiya, portrayed by Divyendu Sharma, has attracted the most attention. Fans flooded social media with humorous reactions, with many joking that the film was made solely to bring the beloved character back. Others celebrated his return by posting comments such as, "Munna Bhaiya is back."

Directed by Gurmeet Singh, the Mirzapur franchise is known for its gripping mix of crime, action, and political drama. The first season premiered on Prime Video on November 16, 2018, and quickly became a fan favorite worldwide.

Apart from Pankaj Tripathi, the film also features Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, and several other familiar faces from the original series. Following the success of the first season, additional installments were released in 2020 and 2024, further expanding the franchise's popularity.
