Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi Release Confirmed After Madras High Court Verdict

Sivakarthikeyan Parasakthi Set for January 10 Release Amid Legal Challenge

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Parasakthi has faced legal scrutiny ahead of its theatrical release. The Madras High Court has rejected a plea requesting a halt to the movie’s release, clearing the way for its planned launch.

The film is directed by Sudha Kongara and stars Sivakarthikeyan alongside Ravi Mohan, Atharva Murali, and Srileela in key roles. Backed by Dwan Pictures, Parasakthi is scheduled to hit theaters on January 10, coinciding with the Sankranti festival.

The legal dispute arose after assistant director Rajendran filed a petition seeking to stop the release, claiming that the film’s storyline was similar to his script titled Semmozhi. His counsel informed the court that Semmozhi was originally written in 1965 and officially registered with the South Indian Film Writers Association in 2010. The production house was represented by senior advocates P S Raman and Aravind Pandian during the proceedings.

After considering arguments from both sides, Justice Senthil Kumar dismissed the petition. The court noted that although Parasakthi was announced for release in 2024, the petitioner approached the court only in December 2025, which weakened the case for an interim stay. The judge also recalled that the court had earlier instructed the Film Writers Association to compare the scripts of Semmozhi and Parasakthi and submit a detailed report. Since no response was received, the hearing was adjourned to May 28, while allowing the film’s release to proceed as scheduled.
