Where to Watch Your Favorite Cartoon Network Shows Now

Cartoon Network closure news

It’s the end of an era! Cartoon Network’s website, which had been a nostalgic hub for fans since 1998, was taken offline on August 8. Visitors are now redirected to Max, another Warner Bros. Discovery streaming platform, where they can continue enjoying their favorite cartoons. This move is reportedly part of Warner Bros.'s cost-cutting strategy and an effort to drive more subscriptions to Max.

A pop-up message on the Max website now says, “Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required).” It also mentions, “Sign up for Max to create a Kids Profile with rating restrictions and additional privacy protections to keep it fun and kid-friendly! Cable subscribers can still enjoy Cartoon Network programming on TV and connected apps.”

According to a Cartoon Network representative, the focus will shift to shows and social media, where consumer engagement is high and there’s growth potential. The network will continue to air 11 hours of content daily from 6 am to 5 pm on linear TV.

The Cartoon Network website used to feature full episodes and clips from shows like Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Teen Titans GO!, along with free games related to these shows.

The shutdown is part of a broader trend in the streaming industry. Earlier this year, Paramount Global removed the Comedy Central, MTV News, and CMT websites, and terminated the Noggin channel.
