Mayasabha Review
OTT Review: Mayasabha
- Rating: 3.5/5
- Streaming Date: August 7, 2025
- Platform: Sony LIV
- Starring: Aadhi Pinisetty, Chaitanya Rao, Divya Dutta, and others
- Directors: Deva Katta, Kiran Jay Kumar
Story:
In Mayasabha, Kakarla Krishnama Naidu (KKN) and MS Rami Reddy (MSR), bound by ambition but divided by ideals, navigate the murky corridors of power, forging a complex brotherhood that tests loyalty, vision, and the cost of leadership. Circumstances later split them, and the series explores their paths and the role of Rayapati Chakradhar Rao (RCR) in their journey.
What Works:
- Deva Katta delivers a gripping political drama with sharp writing and a strong narrative. The performances by Aadhi and Chaitanya are compelling, with Sai Kumar and Divya Dutta leaving a lasting impact. Several scenes—like RCR’s rise and political maneuvering—are particularly engaging. The casting is spot-on, and the show is visually grounded with well-recreated period settings.
What Doesn’t:
- Some episodes, especially those involving the Emergency and vasectomy themes, drag and slow the pace. There are violent scenes and strong language, making it less suitable for family viewing. A few characters feel underused, possibly to be explored in a future season.
Technical Aspects:
- Solid cinematography and background score enhance the storytelling. Editing could have been tighter in some parts, but overall, the production values are good.
Verdict:
- Mayasabha unfolds as a gripping tale of power and ambition, where every betrayal feels personal and each alliance hides a deeper motive, making it a standout in the realm of political thrillers.
