Story:

‘Racharikam’ is set in the 1980s in Telangana’s Rachakonda region. Bhargavi Reddy (Apsara Rani) and Vivek Reddy (Varun Sandesh) are siblings who enter politics with personal motives rather than public service. Shiva (Vijay Shankar) is a young leader from their region, and Bhargavi falls in love with him. However, when her father Raja Reddy (Srikanth Iyengar) discovers their relationship, events take a dramatic turn. The film unfolds whether Bhargavi marries Shiva and how her family reacts to this political and personal conflict.

Narration & Technical Aspects:

Many recent films are based on the 1980s village backdrop, and 'Racharikam' follows this trend. The director, Suresh Lankalapalli, has crafted a political drama with a mix of love and revenge elements. While the plot follows a familiar template, the film presents rural Telangana politics convincingly. The romance, action sequences, and emotional depth add value to the storytelling. The production values are decent, and the background score is satisfactory.

Performances:

Vijay Shankar delivers a strong emotional performance, making it one of his career-best roles. Varun Sandesh impresses as the antagonist with a fresh and intense portrayal. Vijay Ram Raju as another villain also stands out. Srikanth Iyengar is well-suited for his role, while Apsara Rani showcases terrific acting, especially in romantic scenes. The rest of the cast performs well within their roles.

Final Verdict: ‘Racharikam’ is an engaging village political drama.

Rating: 2.75/5
