Raja Saab Twitter Review: Prabhas film disappoints, viewers brand it a royal mess of scares and confusion

Raja Saab Twitter Review: Even as negative reactions dominated social media, a small section of users tried to highlight positive aspects of the Prabhas-led film.

Raja Saab Twitter Review: Prabhas latest horror-comedy has finally arrived in cinemas, drawing divided responses from audiences. While a few viewers appreciated certain moments, many felt the film failed to deliver effective horror or consistent entertainment, with some describing it as a royal mess filled with confusion rather than scares.

Raja Saab Twitter reactions

Director Maruthi horror-comedy The Raja Saab, featuring Prabhas alongside Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Nidhhi Agerwal, released in theatres on January 9.

Initial responses on X, formerly Twitter, suggest a mixed reception, with viewers sharply split over the film narrative and execution. However, a segment of the audience praised the climax and felt Prabhas managed to leave a strong impact toward the end.

One viewer posted, “Overall a weak attempt. The screenplay lacks strength and the storytelling feels outdated. Horror sequences fail to create impact, leaving the film dull. Substandard VFX and poor production values further reduce the experience. Prabhas appears underused, and the romantic track does not work at all. Thaman music is average at best. A few palace comedy scenes provide brief relief, but the film is overly long and mostly boring. Extremely disappointing.” Another user bluntly termed it “DISASTER Loading.”

Another post read, “Watch at your own risk. A royal mess of scares and confusion. The horror feels forced, drama drags endlessly with twists that go nowhere, and the story loses momentum quickly. Large portions are uninteresting, making it difficult to stay engaged despite star presence and occasional VFX moments. A grand attempt that confuses more than it frightens.”

A viewer shared, “The Raja Saab started with an interesting concept but fails in execution. Prabhas tries his best with humor and emotion, but forced comedy, unnecessary romance, and lack of horror turn a promising idea into a wasted opportunity. Waiting for Spirit instead.”

One lengthy review stated, “The Raja Saab is a massive letdown that does not meet the expectations associated with a Prabhas film. While the teaser hinted at a Maruthi-style horror-comedy entertainer, the final result is noisy, disorganized, and lifeless. The biggest issue is the writing. The storyline is thin and predictable from the start, relying on outdated formulas. It is unfortunate to see a pan-India star like Prabhas stuck in such a poorly developed role. Despite his efforts to add style and flair, the weak character gives him little scope.” The user concluded, calling the film “all style and no substance,” adding that even star power cannot rescue a film with a weak script.

Some users also pointed out that certain scenes shown in the trailer were missing from the final cut. One wrote, “Why is the old Prabhas look missing from the movie? Will this scene be added later? Why was it revealed in the first place? Also, there is no justification for the joker look in the climax. Very disappointed.”

Others were harsher, labeling the film an “ultra disaster” and calling it a “cringe movie,” with a few describing it as “one of the worst films.”

Climax earns some appreciation

Despite the largely negative feedback, a section of viewers found redeeming qualities, especially in the film climax.

One post said, “The Raja Saab is a mixed bag. Prabhas delivers a confident performance with strong screen presence. The concept had great potential, but the execution turned messy and underwhelming.” Another added, “The first half drags badly, but the second half improves. Prabhas looks impressive, a few entertaining moments, and a mixed climax.”

Another user wrote, “Prabhas makes a refreshing return in a playful and stylish role. His comic timing, charm, and screen presence form the backbone of the film. The supporting cast performs well, the female leads bring energy, and the villains create enough tension. The climax, especially the final 30 to 45 minutes, stands out as the biggest highlight with emotional depth and grand visuals.”

A fan commented, “Execution has flaws, but Prabhas charismatic screen presence, pre-interval block, interval, and climax make the film entertaining overall. Definitely watchable.”

Another review highlighted, “Prabhas performance is the biggest plus. He brings back his old Darling vibe with excellent comedy timing, stylish appearance, and powerful screen presence. His action sequences and emotional moments, particularly in the climax, deliver strong mass appeal.”

One viewer concluded, “Overall, The Raja Saab offers decent value for money for Prabhas fans and families seeking light horror-comedy during the holiday season. The lack of major competition helps, and Prabhas star power carries it through. It could have been tighter, but if you enjoy his charm and can overlook flaws, it is worth a theatre watch.”
