The RajaSaab Trailer Review: Prabhas’ First Horror Film Looks Promising

The much-anticipated Trailer 2.0 of The RajaSaab has finally been unveiled. Pan-India star Prabhas headlines the film, which is directed by Maruthi.

The RajaSaab is helmed by Maruthi with Prabhas playing the central character. The project is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Alongside Prabhas, the film features Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles, while Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani appear in significant supporting parts. Promotional material released so far, including posters, songs, teasers, and trailers, has generated strong buzz among audiences. Scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9 as a Sankranthi festive offering, the makers have now released the new trailer as the release date draws closer.

The earlier trailer primarily highlighted Prabhas comic timing, but the second trailer delves deeper into the core storyline. It makes it clear that the film is not limited to humor alone, as it also explores elements of fear and suspense. As indicated earlier, the plot revolves around a confrontation between a grandfather and his grandson. The grandfather, who amassed vast wealth, is determined not to pass it on to anyone and ruthlessly eliminates anyone who enters his bungalow. RajaSaab, the grandson, is raised by his grandmother. When her health begins to decline, he is prepared to go to any extent to save her. In the process, he challenges his own grandfather and attempts to claim control of the bungalow. Although he is a grandson by blood, the grandfather exists as a lingering spirit and even tries to kill him. The film ultimately revolves around who emerges victorious, whether RajaSaab succeeds in saving his grandmother, how the grandfather remained as a spirit for so many years, and how RajaSaab confronts this supernatural threat. These answers are meant to unfold on the big screen.

This film marks Prabhas first venture into the horror genre. For the first time, audiences will see him taking on ghosts and supernatural forces. The trailer is packed with intense action sequences, beginning from the moment Prabhas enters the bungalow. Scenes show the grandfather attempting to terrify him, eerie conversations, and even a dramatic confrontation involving a crocodile. Throughout the trailer, Prabhas repeatedly challenges his grandfather, asserting that the entire property rightfully belongs to his grandmother. Every sequence reflects his determination to end the grandfather brutal dominance.

The final moments of the trailer reveal Prabhas in a striking new appearance inspired by a Joker-like look, leaving viewers stunned. From the grandfather visual design to this unexpected transformation, the character presentations have impressed audiences. Music composer Thaman delivers powerful background music that enhances the intensity, while the visuals and VFX appear to be on a high technical level, which is crucial for a horror-driven film. Although the film took time in production, the trailer suggests a polished outcome. Director Maruthi has positioned this as the true representation of the film tone. Now, all eyes are on whether The RajaSaab will create new records at the box office.
