He established the center exactly 25 years ago in 1998. Currently, IDC plays a pivotal role in Microsoft's Research and Development. The centre has been instrumental in the development of various artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including Azure, Windows, Office, Bing, Copilot, and more. Additionally, it has significantly contributed to the development of Microsoft 365 (mobile) applications for Android and iOS devices.
During Bill Gates' visit, the Chief Vice President of IDC announced that the centre would serve as the hub for Microsoft's innovations in AI, cloud computing, gaming, and cybersecurity in the future. The speech delivered by Bill Gates to the engineers at IDC was highly commendable. It is reported that Bill Gates reiterated his optimism for an AI-powered India during the event.
The Microsoft India Development Center celebrated its 25th anniversary on December 5th last year, with former cricketer Kapil Dev serving as the chief guest for the occasion.
